Intricately scribed leaf
from a 13th century Friar's Bible. 12 lines of Latin script per
inch in 2 columns of 48 lines. Text written on fine vellum in dark
brown ink in a remarkably small and fine script. 3 double and
triple line initials in alternating red and blue. Beautifully
written marginal designs in red and blue ink. The leaf is bright
and clean The text on the bottom of the second column of the recto
is somewhat blurred. The leaf contains
the text of Ezekiel 44-47 where the Lord instructs the people upon who
may enter the Temple, the division of the land, offerings, and the
celebration of Passover.
