Intricately scribed leaf
from a 13th century Friar's Bible. 48 lines of text per column. Text written on fine vellum in dark
brown ink in a remarkably small and fine script. Verso contains 3
triple line initials in alternating red and blue; Recto has 2 double
line initials in alternating red and blue. Beautifully
written marginal designs in red and blue ink. The leaf is bright
and clean The leaf contains text from the Book of Exodus, chapters
25 through most of 28. In these passages, God instructs
Moses on how to make an offering and an ark.
