Antiphonals were books containing the sung portions of the Divine
Office. The manuscript leaf offered here is large, typical of the
medieval book, so it could be shared by a choir.
Leaf from early 16th century
written on vellum.
5 bars of music on each side.
Lyrics hand scribed in black ink with red rubrics. Impressively
large initial "L" written in red ink. Distinct hair and flesh
sides. Minor soiling and creasing to margin.
Size: 596 x 411 mm (approx 22.6 x 16.4 inches).
