Antiphonals were books containing the sung portions of the Divine
Office. The manuscript leaf offered here is large, typical of the
medieval book, so it could be shared by a choir.
The leaf featured here is from a 16th century antiphonal written on vellum. 6 bars of music in a square notation. Lyrics hand scribed in Latin in black ink with red rubrics. Large 5-line intricately decorated initial in blue and red. Leaf is bright and clean Framed in beautiful sturdy gold wood frame with a black matte.
